A Scientific Lecture Entitled: The Linux System
Under the patronage of the Honorable President of the University and the Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad, the College of Information Technology held a scientific lecture entitled **“Linux System and Its Importance for Computer Science Students”** in the college’s central hall.
The lecture was delivered by the Assistant Dean for Scientific Affairs, Assistant Professor Dr. Omar Salah Farhan, and the Head of the Cybersecurity Department, Lecturer Dr. Ahmed Abdul Jabbar.
The lecture aimed to introduce computer students to the Linux operating system and highlight its importance in modern computing by presenting its fundamentals and architecture, and explaining its wide applications in programming, cybersecurity, server administration, and cloud environments.
The lecture also focused on developing students’ skills in using the command line, and explained the pivotal role of mastering Linux in enhancing academic success and building a professional career for students of Computer Science and Information Technology, in line with labor market requirements and rapid technological advancements.
