College of Information Technology Participates in the “Planting Trees: A Step Toward a Sustainable University” Campaign
On the occasion of the National Tree Planting Day, observed annually on March 12, the College of Information Technology at the University of Fallujah participated in the campaign “Planting Trees: A Step Toward a Sustainable University,” launched by the university presidency at the university campus.
The college administration emphasized the importance of actively engaging in such environmental initiatives, which contribute to raising environmental awareness among students and staff and align with the university’s efforts to support environmental sustainability and the objectives of Iraq Vision 2030. The college also expressed its appreciation for the efforts of the University Presidency, the Diwan Affairs Department, and the Fallujah Environment Department for organizing this campaign aimed at expanding green spaces across the university campus.
Faculty members, administrative staff, and students from the College of Information Technology took part in the campaign activities by planting trees across the campus, reflecting the college community’s commitment to social responsibility and its support for initiatives that contribute to improving the university environment.
The campaign also included awareness activities highlighting the importance of tree planting in mitigating climate change and its positive impact on public health and environmental sustainability.
This initiative comes as part of the national efforts supported by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research, in conjunction with the National Tree Planting Day, and within the framework of the “Plant Five Million Trees and Palm Trees” initiative launched by the Prime Minister of Iraq, Eng. Mohammed Shia’ Al-Sudani, aimed at combating desertification and expanding green areas across the country. 🌱🌳
