Scientific Seminar for First-Year Student
Under the patronage of the respected Dean of the College, Professor Dr. Ahmed Suleiman Hamad,
the College of Information Technology held a scientific seminar session for first-year students in the Artificial Intelligence Department, as part of the requirements of the course *Introduction to Artificial Intelligence*, within the framework of implementing the Bologna Process, which aims to enhance students’ academic and practical skills.
The session included individual seminars presented by the students, where their scientific performance was evaluated according to approved academic criteria. These criteria covered communication skills, clarity of presentation, the method of presenting scientific ideas, in addition to the ability to organize content and respond to questions.
The students showed clear interaction and enjoyment during the lectures, and a good level of performance was observed among many of them, especially in communication skills and in presenting ideas in a sound scientific manner. A number of strengths and weaknesses in students’ performance were also identified, with the aim of reinforcing the positive aspects and addressing the challenges in the future.
These activities come as part of the department’s efforts to support students in developing their scientific and personal skills and to better prepare them for the upcoming academic stages, in line with the requirements of modern university education and the Bologna Process.
